Julie Faver-Dylla named Excutive Director of the Hotel Association of Tarrant County

The Executive Committee for the Hotel Association of Tarrant County has named Julie Faver-Dylla as the new Executive Director effective May 31, 2010.  As a volunteer she has served as Membership Director of the association as well as Secretary on the Executive Committee. She was most recently the Sales Account and Revenue Manager for the Marriott DFW Airport South hotel which is owned and operated by Winegardner & Hammonds based out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Faver-Dylla has been with Winegardner & Hammonds for more than eight years in the Tarrant County area.  With over 14 years of experience in the lodging industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the leadership role of the Hotel Association of Tarrant County.  She is a five time winner of the WHI Platinum Club Award as well as the recipient of Marriott’s Franchise Revenue Leader of the Year Award.  An active member of (MPI) Meeting Professionals International, (HSMAI) Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International and most recently completed training as a Certified Tourism Ambassador, Faver-Dylla is very involved in the hospitality community in the DFW Metroplex.

Based in Tarrant County, the Hotel Association of Tarrant County is one of the largest hotel associations in the state of Texas with member hotels, affiliated businesses and involvement by the Convention & Visitors Bureaus in Tarrant County.  The association keeps members informed and updated about all hospitality related items as well as providing educational opportunities through scholarships to local students.

Al DeBerry appointed to the 2010 Executive Committee for the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association

The Board of Directors of the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association (THLA) has named Flower Mound resident Al DeBerry, Area Director with Tharaldson Lodging Companies, and president of the Hotel Association of Tarrant County, to the 2010 Executive Committee of the State lodging association.  DeBerry served as Chairman of the THLA Board in 2009 and is currently President of the Hotel Association of Tarrant County.  Due to his tremendous service and innovative approaches, DeBerry was also recently recognized by the American Hotel & Lodging Association as the State of Texas recipient of the national State Leadership Award.  The award is given annually by the American Hotel & Lodging Association to honor lodging industry leaders who are instrumental in implementing vital programs within the lodging sector throughout their state.

A 25-year veteran of the lodging industry, DeBerry began his career at the Exel Inn hotel chain in Denton at the age of 19.  By the age of 21, he was promoted to General Manager, becoming the youngest GM in the history of the company.  Following management positions in Denton, Dallas and Austin, DeBerry joined Tharaldson Lodging.  In his current position as Area Director, DeBerry oversees 11 hotels in Central Texas.

In 2006 he was named the Rocky Mountain/South Central Region Area Director of the Year.  An advocate for hospitality education, DeBerry has served on the Professional Development Panel of THLA’s Annual Short Course for the past six years and currently serves on the Hospitality Action Team for the Super Bowl XLV Host Committee.
