NEW OWNERS PURCHASE WISCONSIN RAPIDS DOWNTOWN LANDMARK HOTEL MEAD
As of October 1, 2012 a group has purchased the Hotel Mead located at 451 East Grand Avenue in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. The hotel was purchased from Balmoral Realty, the Real Estate arm of WoodTrust Bank based in Wisconsin Rapids. The new owners represented as SKD Hotel Mead, LLC. are Melvin and Brenda Schellin of Theresa, Wisconsin – Terry Sindt of Jeffersonton, Virginia – Larry Davis of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota – Al DeBerry of Flower Mound, Texas.
The hotel was originally built in 1951 by Consolidated Papers with additions and upgrades added in 1978 and again in 1998. The hotel’s two towers are comprised of 154 rooms, eight of which are King Whirlpool Suites. As a full service hotel in this Central Wisconsin city, it also boasts approximately 16,000 square feet of total meeting space with a 4,050 sq. ft. ballroom that can seat up to 450 people. The hotel also features a restaurant, the Café Mulino, as well as a separate onsite bar and grill, the Grand Avenue Tavern. Other amenities include a large indoor swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna and an extended fitness center.

Jeremy Berlin Named General Manager of the DFW Airport Marriott South
Fort Worth, Texas, June 14, 2010 – Winegardner and Hammons, Inc, announced Jeremy Berlin as General Manager of the DFW Airport Marriott South Effective May 25, 2010. He was most recently the General Manager for the Embassy Suites in Williamsburg, VA , a hotel also owned and operated by Winegardner & Hammons, Inc. Berlin is a graduate of Mercyhurst College and has been in the hospitality industry for eleven years. More than 6 of those years he has enjoyed management positions with WHI in locations such as Birmingham, AL, Columbus, OH and Lexington, KY. “I look forward to the opportunity to lead the DFW Airport Marriott South and to be part of this community,” says Berlin. “My family and I are excited to call Texas home.”
